Many times we buy thing we don’t really need. Owning less help us to save time and money. Having more stuff in our home or office can cause stress or illness. We will be spending time in more productive ways than hours of cleaning things that we don’t need. We’ve met many people who felt more freedom in their house when they cut down things. To understand more about minimalist living we interviewed Caitlin Roberts:
Hello Caitlin! We are excited to share your story and your business with our readers. Tell us about your service and how you got the idea of ” Minimize with purpose” ?
Caitlin Roberts : My name is Caitlin Roberts and I am a clutter and tidying specialist in Los Angeles, California. My educational background is in Communications and Organizational Leadership. Through my experience in Human Resources and Operations, I discovered my passion for improving the human experience – which led me to read Marie Kondo’s books The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up and Spark Joy. In December 2016 I had the opportunity to begin training with Marie Kondo and the team of KonMari Media, Inc. This training and passion inspired my business Minimize With Purpose.
Minimize With Purpose is dedicated to helping clients create beautiful, simple homes through the removal of the unnecessary. We encourage our clients to keep only the items that inspire their future and enrich their lives. We believe that by surrounding yourself with only the items that make you happy, you will have the opportunity to elevate your home and live a more joyful life.
What was the biggest business mistake you made and what did you do to learn from it?
Caitlin Roberts : In the beginning days of my business I received all client inquiries via a contact form on my website. I learned quickly that my clients were ready to take action when they contacted me. Waiting for an email back from me might hinder their momentum. I was able to address this by adding the option to schedule an initial consultation call on my website. By fast-tracking this process my potential clients could take an immediate action towards beginning their tidying festival!
Please tell us more about the importance of removing the unnecessary. How can this help individuals?
Caitlin Roberts: We live in a world where we are always overwhelmed and short on time. By completing your tidying festival, you allow yourself a fresh start. A tidy home will reduce stress and allow you to gain control. Through this introspective approach our clients learn to identify their core values. If an item no longer supports this vision, or no longer brings them joy, we are granted the opportunity to release this item. Once you clear this clutter, you remove the background noise to your life. Our clients report feeling calm, centered, and filled with gratitude for their surroundings.
Now is the time to starting making your home, your home!
